Thank you so much for publishing “before and after” videos and photos–and for those submitting them. As a relatively green horse owner trying to implement this classical training with our horse, I do not have the trained eye to see the difference between what Will is teaching and what I see elsewhere. In fact, I have just been discussing with a friend (who is also using Will’s videos with her horse) how I wished I could see the correct and incorrect “side by side”. And, voila! this posting shows up, as well as the third submission of Natalia and Luna in October 2015. Very, very helpful.

Outstanding lesson! I could only hope to have a training level test like this first one! Thank you for posting this with the clips because it shows such a contrast in both horse and rider!

Beautiful work! So nice to follow this horse and rider and see their development and so interesting to see how little changes is needed to disturb the flow, as in the other test (and still it’s better than anything I have seen on lower leve competitions in Sweden for years). Very interesting so compare with the “old way” of riding. That’s how everybody ride these Days. I’ve been there too. Thank you for showing us the right way! 🙂

Really helpfull great videos. And the Comments are absolutly
fanstastic. When looking around on equvipages in Denmark , it seems that this way to ride is disappeared.
The horses is moving very tense and maybe awfull to
follow in a sitting trot f.eks.The horses often also walking like in pas walk.
How can we spread this way to ride so it is good for the horse and reiter and nice to Watch.

I love watching this horse – he shows so much potential and the leg markings are great to show how the diagonal pairs work 🙂

Join me as I post weekly blogs covering many topics relating to Classical Foundation Training. I have intentionally left out the word "dressage" because many people have a negative association with the prevalent "crank and spank" approach or that it is a sport for only those who are afraid to jump.

Dressage as it is meant to be is an understanding of how to best optimize a horse's movement and ability to carry a rider, surely a benefit for any horse, any discipline. It is also important in maintaining your horse's safety, soundness and sanity.
