The ring looks beautiful! Wonder if Meg or anyone else can tell us it’s size….. Or a good size for a schooling ring.
    Thank you.

  2. Meg says:

    The ring size is 110 x 250
It is a beautiful big ring!

    Hi Art 2Ride folks,

I’m watching this video and wondering if lunging 2-3 times per week is too much. I am riding once or twice a week and lunging at least twice. Will the repetitiveness of circling during lunging harm my horse’s back longerm? He is an OTTB rescue who still needs about 80 pounds of weight on.

PS looking forward to your clinic next weekend at Healing Rein Farm in NY.

Lunging correctly will not hurt your horse, however, running horses around as fast as they will go for long periods of time hollow will, like everything else done hollow, destroy your horse’s legs. I look forward to seeing you soon.

Join me as I post weekly blogs covering many topics relating to Classical Foundation Training. I have intentionally left out the word "dressage" because many people have a negative association with the prevalent "crank and spank" approach or that it is a sport for only those who are afraid to jump.

Dressage as it is meant to be is an understanding of how to best optimize a horse's movement and ability to carry a rider, surely a benefit for any horse, any discipline. It is also important in maintaining your horse's safety, soundness and sanity.
